šŸ“¦ U.S. Shipping Update: Tariffs & CUSMA

Hi friends,

I want to be transparent with you about some changes happening with U.S. shipping and how I’m handling them to keep your happy mail stress-free šŸ’Œ.

Recently, the U.S. government suspended the de minimis exemption, which means Canadian businesses like mine now need to declare tariffs on orders going into the U.S. This could have made things complicated for customers, with surprise fees and delays at delivery.

But here’s the good news ✨ — my shop qualifies under the CUSMA (Canada-United States-Mexico Agreement). This trade agreement allows my products to ship to the U.S. with very little to no duties since everything I make is produced right here in Canada.

What this means for you:

  • Flat shipping rate at checkout → This covers tariffs and customs fees so there are no surprise charges when your order arrives.

  • Free U.S. shipping on orders $100+ → I’m bringing this back to make larger orders even easier to enjoy.

My goal is to make sure your experience is seamless: one simple shipping rate, no hidden charges, and your stickers arriving on time just like always ✨.

Thank you so much for supporting my small shop through these changes. Your love and support mean everything, and I’m committed to keeping your planners full of sunshine.

With gratitude,
Chels @ Dash of Sun Designs

ā“ U.S. Shipping FAQ

Q: Will I still have to pay customs or duties when my order arrives?
A: No — all fees are included in the flat shipping rate. Your package will arrive without surprise charges.

Q: Why is the shipping rate a little higher now?
A: There are a small amount of duties or extra fees that have to be paid even with the CUSMA exemption. I’ve built these costs into the flat rate so you don’t have to deal with surprise fees or delays.

Q: What is CUSMA and why does it help?
A: CUSMA (Canada-United States-Mexico Agreement) is a trade agreement that lets my products ship duty-free or with very minimal duties, since they’re all produced in Canada.

Q: Is free shipping still available?
A: Yes! U.S. orders over $100 ship free — and this includes all duties and fees.

Q: Does this affect Canadian or International orders?
A: No — this change only impacts U.S. orders. Canadian and international shipping remains the same (with updates shared if needed).
